Our Craftsmanship

Tanning is a six week process of steeping skins in varying infusions, to deliver the desired level of strength and natural appearance. Our research teams are always looking for new combinations of bark, leaves, nuts and water to create fresh shades of colour and texture.

We also work with exotic skins, fine box calf and other premium leathers.

Fastenings
When it comes locks, clasps, rings and buckles Tanner Krolle have always been open to new ideas and new materials.

For our more delicate pieces we recommend palladium, a rare metal prized for its lustre and white properties. It is more commonly used in fine watches and jewellery because of its purity, strength and nonallergenic properties. For our more robust pieces we still rely on the finest forged hand-finished brass.

Handles
Our handles are built to last. Constructed from 15 composite layers of hand-stitched leather they are both strong and comfortable, designed to mould to the contours of the owner’s hand over time.
